We appreciated this KOA. Even with lots of highway noise, the shade, fishing pond, pool, playground & game room with pool table overcame this inconvenience. It was clean and the staff was courteous and efficient with reservations as well as check-in. Salina has plenty of restaurants and stores. We thought it was a great place to stop and would definitely stop again when in the area.
This KOA was fine for stopping overnight. The only comment we had was that the showers were cooled by fans and no A/C. Staff was friendly and efficient.
We chose Old Circle Campground because it is more secluded. What a great State Park. Lots of shade and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Access to pool for $3 as well as mini golf, paddle boats, swimming beach and horseback riding. The caves were neat to climb around on. Great place for kids. Very scenic and quiet. The whole park is well kept and clean. October would also be great during the changing of the seasons. Little Mexican restaurant in Wilburton is good too. 2 thumbs up.
Nice clean park with modern hook-ups, clean (pay) showers, restrooms and laundry. Recommend south end of Abilene loop if you want shade. Day fee for entry into park. Great bike trails, fishing and nice swimming area. No highway noise at this campground, but it is in the flight path of DIA! We would stay here again when in Denver area.
This is a beautiful location and campground. The best sites are down below with the rocks and trees, but mostly designed for pop-ups and tents. We saw one full hook-up site in this area (C-3). The site for our 30 ft TT had 15 amp service. Sites & roads are dirt, close together with tight turns. Dump station is on road exiting park and difficult to manage even for the blue tote. Restrooms/showers were clean & staff accommodating. They do have a full hook up area but sites are close together, view isn't as good & parking tight. We didn't like the other campgrounds in the Estes Park area. This campground takes first with it's scenery and location. We would stay here again but would most definitely book ahead for Site C-3.
We really enjoy Elephant Rock. Lots of trails for cycling/walking/jogging. Nice shady spots, most with decent privacy. Close to Lake Murray Lodge for typical lodge activities, swimming, mini-golf, paddle boats, pool, horseback riding, marina. Lots of restaurants in Ardmore as well. Only problem is that it fills up fast.
Nicely appointed campground in that all are close to water for fishing & views. Dock within walking distance if you prefer to fish off of it. Great place if you have a boat. No restrooms or showers however, we felt that a place in this price range really needs this as well as pool and gameroom. We enjoyed it and have placed it on our "will go back" list.
I wasn't crazy about this campground. As previously mentioned, it feels like a trailer park. Sites are close together. The place has lost that loving feeling. Showers/restrooms and grounds were very clean; office staff was rushed. When you are in Branson on vacation, you need more than this.
We stayed here on the way to our destination. The property sits next to a truck stop. The cigarette smoke in the office was overpowering. This should be addressed by management, however, staff was friendly and efficient. It's an "okay" place to spend the night on the way.
Enjoying Mar Val will depend on the site you get. The reservation desk is not much help in this regard. Didn't like the executive sites which are stuck at the end with no trees. We felt best sites were #146-#151, pull thrus with shade and full hook up. #205 is on the river, nice & shady but no sewer. Our kids enjoyed the pool & river. Call well in advance if you want a specific site. Don't forget to look at Greenleaf State park while there. Nice place as well. We will definitely return.
